Several District VIII Daughters attended Southern Council on September 14-15, 2007, at the Irvine Marriott.
On Friday night, we had a chance to "Meet the Candidates" for state the next state board. Saturday was filled with workshops, shopping in the Exhibit Room, and the main Council meeting. We were all kept quite busy, as usual!

Nearly every chapter in our District was represented, so you can all hear the details from your chapter regents or whomever attended. I do want to share some photos that I took with my NEW CAMERA:
Above - Antelope Valley regent Cathie Matranga with past District VIII Director Jolaine Lamb.
Alliklik Chapter Regent Rose Ann Thomas smiles for the camera.
Sheryl Kolt and Francie Lloyd shop in the exhibit room.
Local JROTC presents the Colors.
Jayne Scardello is all smiles by the American Flag.
Junior member Aimee Hansen helps out in the Junior Shoppe.
Did you notice our Pam Meyers in the ROTC shot? She's kind of hard to pick out, so be sure to look verrrry carefully! ;-)
I would like to thank Pam and Julie Stranges for doing babysitting duty of the official District VIII Baby on Saturday morning. All day long, ladies kept coming up to me and saying, "I saw your daughter running up and down the hall this morning!" I wasn't sure whether I should be amused or embarrassed! I'm sure that all of you who have parented a toddler can relate to what I'm saying.
REMINDER: Our State Historian reminded us that chapter histories for the new CSSDAR History Book, 1994-2008, are due on Monday, October 1, 2007. That date is rapidly approaching, so if you haven't finished your history, you'll want to get that done ASAP.
Also, if you did not receive a copy of the Master Questionnaire, you can download a copy from our CSSDAR Members Web Site. I'm sure you'll want to get started on this right away!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Constitution Week. If you'd like to share how your chapter celebrated, please feel free to do so in the comments section of this post.
