It is with sadness that the death on Monday, August 18, 2008, of Antoinette (Nettie) Segraves, NSDAR Honorary VPG and Alabama Society Honorary State Regent, has been announced.
Ruth Sherrell, Alabama State Chaplain, has shared the following:
"Nettie displayed great courage as she battled the recurrence of her cancer. She was a very congenial lady who served our Society with grace and relied on her wisdom and experience to lead us as State Regent. She will be greatly missed. I pray that fond memories will be of comfort to you during this period of grief and mourning. I am confident we can rely on Jesus' words, 'Come to Me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.' Rest well, Nettie."District VIII wishes to express condolences to her husband, family, and the members of The Alabama Society at this sad time.
