Bible Records

Our District Genealogical Records Chairman, Mary Alice Ambrose would like to remind you about our State Regent's project regarding Bible Records. some of us have family Bibles that have been handed down for generations. Unfortunately, some of these priceless records are disintegrating due to the tendency of ink and paper to fade. Even some family trees recorded on paper that was excellent in its time begin to disappear. We want to preserve these records before they are lost.

Chapter GRC chairmen, please encourage your members to make copies of the family record pages in their Bibles and the Bibles of friends and relatives. The Bibles do not have to be currently in California. Include the Bible's title page or copyright page. Sign an Information Release Form obtainable from the CSSDAR website.

You member may gather additional information such as whom the Bible belonged to and where the family lived. She must transcribe the copied pages; you, talented chairmen, will index the transcription. Copies, transcriptions, index and form go to Lana Tober, State Chairman.

*Remember records submitted are to be pre WWII to protect individual's privacy. If you have any additional questions, please contact Mary Ambrose or Lana Tober.
