Yesterday evening word was received from Betty Breithaupt, Regent of the Fernanda Maria Chapter, requesting prayers for Kay Oatas, who had been in the hospital facing treatment for lung cancer. Kay's daughter, Susannah, reported that she was expecting her mom to be discharged shortly, and then she would be at home with her.
Sadly, before the request could be posted word was received this afternoon that Kay passed away last night. What sorrow at this sudden loss of one so dear to so many in our DAR sisterhood. Kay was the immediate past membership liason for District VIII, a past District officer and was currently State Vice-Chairman of Lineage Research. She will be greatly missed. Please pray for her family as they face the difficult days ahead preparing for their final farewells to a wonderful and unique lady.
