April at Chatsworth
The Chatsworth Chapter had a very busy April Meeting. There
were so many subjects to discuss. The District VIII meeting of June 1st to
plan, summer is coming, and genealogy to finish.
We had a wonderful speaker. From
the spinning guild, Ercil Wroth presented a program on spinning, and the spinning
wheel. Little did the Daughters know how important textiles, spinning, and
cloth are to our history. We were so immersed with all she had to share that we
are hoping we can have her continue her subject next year. It is still
exceedingly important to women and our economy past, present, and future. She
shared different fleeces, combing, and then spinning. We know the spinning
wheel is a part of our National Insignia. Women also have the enjoyment of
creating something beautiful and useful.
We were happy to install a new member, Lisa Downey. It is
always lovely to meet new people who enjoy genealogy, preservation, education
and patriotism.
