Antelope Valley Chapter Presents Youth Awards

On Saturday, February 2, 2008, I attended the Antelope Valley Chapter's Youth Awards Tea at Lane Park in Quartz Hill.

Grade 6 winner with Chairman Ramona McCaslin and Mayor Hearns

Chaired by Regent Cathie Matranga, it was a lovely event, recognizing the winners of the American History Essay Contest, the Christopher Columbus Essay Contest, and DAR Good Citizens.

The DAR Good Citizens Award Winner, as well as the grades 5, 6, and 7 winners of the American History Essay Contest also were selected as the District VIII winners.

The food was terrific and a good time was had by all. This officer thanks the Antelope Valley Chapter for its hospitality!

Shameless plug of my own child watching the proceedings!
