At the Don Jose de Ortega Chapter's June 19, 2008, Flag Day Luncheon, member Vera Barkley was honored with a corsage, national certificate, and 60-year member pin for her 60 years of DAR membership.
Vera joined a DAR Chapter in Florida in 1948, along with her mother and sister. She served as chapter recording secretary and treasurer, among other jobs.
Upon the death of her husband, Vera moved to Pennsylvania and served in a DAR chapter there. A couple of years ago, Vera moved to Reseda to be near her son and joined the Don Jose de Ortega Chapter.
Congratulations, Vera, for your many years of faithful participation in DAR!
