CHATSWORTH CHAPTER FEBRUARY 2013
Chatsworth Chapter Memorial
Service for Linda Stone took place at the chapter meeting on February 16. Everyone
turned out to share in the memorial service. Her husband Warren
and son Michael attended and also spoke of her love for life and love for the
DAR. There were many present who have their membership because of her expertise
in genealogy and help as Chapter Registrar. We will all miss her.
Karen
Reese came to Chatsworth for our meeting to give a wonderful program on the
quilts from the DAR Museum. What a fabulous heritage our ancestors left us to
enjoy. In the quilt blocks of the Chatsworth Daughters, was a block made by
Linda Stone who recently passed away. There were new Daughters who had not seen
the quilt before, so it was very special to share it with them. Other Daughters
brought their own family quilts to share.
The Chatsworth Chapter was pleased to
present the 6th grade essay award to Truman Knowles. He received the
District VIII award also. The 6th
grade subject was “Forgotten Patriots who Supported the American Struggle for
Independence”. He is a remarkable person and his ease and affability won us all
over.
