                                                      Rancho Simi Celebrates!

         Over 50 members and guests, including the Mayor of Simi Valley, CSSDAR State Vice Regent, State Membership Chairman, and our own District Director attended our February luncheon/meeting honoring our chapter (and district!) essay winners and JAC winners. We shall all remember the smiles on the children’s faces that stayed on their faces throughout the whole event.  

         It truly was a memorable and fantastic day!  From the light-filled beautifully-decorated room at the Grand Vista Hotel, to the engaging historical presentation about the toy room at the DAR museum, to the delicious food of burgers and cobb salads, this event will remain in all of our memories throughout the year.       

         Our chapter had two chapter essay winners and those winners went on to win at the district level and two JAC winners.  We were honored to have the Mayor of Simi Valley and our State Vice Regent hand the winners their chapter certificates.  In addition, it was truly a pleasant surprise to receive a commendation from the Mayor for our chapter recognizing us as a DAR chapter for one year in Simi Valley and it was so special that the commendation was signed by each member of our city council!
