Prayer Request for a Fallen Hero

Your prayers are requested for the family of Air Force Master Sgt. Thomas A. Crowell, who was killed in Iraq on November 1, 2007.

Special Agent Crowell and two others were killed when their vehicle was struck by an explosive device while on assignment near Balad Air Base in Iraq. All three special agents were conducting federal law enforcement operations in the vicinity of the base when they were killed.

Special Agent Crowell had served in law enforcement for 15 years. He is survived by his wife and two sons. He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery on November 13, 2007.

The ladies of the Tomo-Kahni Chapter had been corresponding with Special Agent Crowell, and had been sending care packages of toys and school items to distribute to Iraqi children at his request. Special Agent Crowell called this his mission to "win the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people." The children were thrilled to receive these items.

As we observe Veteran's Day this weekend, let us remember the heroes - and their families - who sacrifice their lives for us on a daily basis. May God bless them all.
