Don Jose de Ortega Chapter Recording Secretary Virginia Crystal hands a check to Barbara Ide, DAR Service for Veterans Chairman, from the chapter's Points for Profit proceeds.
Barbara reported that Marianne Davis of the VA is starting a fund to help returning Iraqi Veterans adjust to everyday life. This fund will be used for recreational activities to help with relaxation which is greatly needed by them. Many are suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD), are very depressed, and are having a difficult time being home with their families.
There are about 7,000 Iraqi Veterans in the Los Angeles area.
